Band

Please check this website on a regular basis for important information, handouts, assignments, lesson schedules, etc.  Everything that is given to students in band is also posted up on this site for access by both students and parents.

8th Graders, it's time to start picking your piece for the year!  Go to www.jwpepper.com, along the top left bar choose "Band", then "Lighter Selections" or "Pop and Show Tunes".  Then on the left hand side you must click on "difficulty" and choose "Easy".  You can go through the lists of pieces and find ones you would like us to play.  Once you have picked some pieces, email the links to the pages on Pepper so I can listen and decide if they are appropriate for us to do.

Pieces must be picked and sent to me by Monday, February 6th.  I will make a list of all the pieces I feel are appropriate and give you time to listen to them and we will vote during band.

Charter Cable channel 13 recorded our winter concert.  You can go to their website (ctv13.net) and watch/listen.  Once at their website, click on Programming, then VOD Archives.  Next, in the drop down box at the top select Local Events (CTV 13), and our concert should be listed.  Enjoy, and thanks, Charter Cable!

Students who have missed band lessons should be making them up after school for 1/2 credit - 50% for a lesson grade is better than a 0%!  Students should see me to schedule a time to do this before the end of the quarter.

Students have been graded on scales at their band lessons.  Students who failed at a scale or missed performing them because they were not at the lesson need to make them up before exams are through.  These scales will go into Powerschool as a test grade on Friday, January 27th.

All 7th and 8th grade parents should have a copy of the Calendar of Events for 2011-2012 - if not, please download a copy from the list of files at the bottom of the page.

Student Contracts/Fees were due Friday, September 16th.  If you still have not paid your band fees for the year and have not signed your contract, that needs to get in as soon as possible.  All the info you need for this is posted at the bottom of this page.

If you did not receive the 2011-2012 Policies and Procedures, please make sure you download from the bottom of this page.

If you do not have SmartMusic at home (your child is using a school or friend's computer to complete assignments), you can check their grades and assignments' due dates on any computer by using SmartMusic's online gradebook portal.  Go to https://gradebook.smartmusic.com/.  This would also be a great way to check your child's progress from work.

If you have questions, please feel free to e-mail or phone me, and I will promptly get back to you.
